Veterinary Technologists

Baylie

RVT Management Liaison

Baylie has lived in Spruce Grove most of her life. She graduated as a Registered Veterinary Technician from Grande Prairie Regional college in 2016 and has worked in the veterinary field since she was 16 years old. Her heart lies in small animal medicine but she does enjoy working with large animals as well. Surgery and internal medicine are Baylie’s main interests.

Her goal is to give every patient the outmost care. She knows how hard it is to trust others with their fur babies. Baylie has two dogs of her own, Toby a golden retriever who is 10 years old and a german shepherd cross named Hayda. She loves taking them on adventures and long walks. Baylie loves the outdoors and enjoys hiking in the mountains as well as swimming in lakes.

Amy

Amy grew up on a beef farm in Dapp, AB and it was here where she found her love for animals. She graduated from Lakeland College in 2011 and went on to work at the Westlock Veterinary Center for just over 4 years. Wanting to pursue other interests in 2015 Amy got into the real estate world until starting her family 4 years later. Her passion still lies within the veterinary industry and she is excited to be back working as a tech and providing care to animals of all sizes.

Amy resides in Stony Plain with her husband and young son who keeps her busy and running around. During her free time she loves to read, spend time with family and friends or explore the outdoors including hiking, biking and camping.

Brittany

Brittany graduated as an Animal Health Technologist from NAIT in 2010. She grew up in the city of Edmonton, but during the winter of 2011, she moved to be with her husband Travis, on their acreage north of Wabamun Lake. She has worked only in small animal practices in Edmonton, which includes dogs, cats, rabbits and other small animals, but looks forward to gaining experience in large animal medicine, which Meridian Veterinary Clinic has to offer. Even though she loves all aspects of her job, her special interests are nutrition, nursing care, anesthesia as well as surgery.

Together Brittany and Travis share their home with their newborn son and many beloved critters – a labrador retrievers, Daisy, their two cats, Grimm and Revi, as well as their Pot Bellied Pig, Yetti. If the acreage is not keeping them busy, Brittany likes to relax outdoors, and spend time with family and friends.

Sam

Sam graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at NAIT in 2022 and previously graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Health. Sam has been a part of the veterinary field for the almost 6 years. She holds a special interest in anesthesia and loves to see all the furry friends that come into the clinic!

Sam was born and raised in the city of Edmonton and has 3 pets; a 15-year-old Bichon Shih Tzu named Coco, a 1-year-old Aussiedoodle named Quincy and a cat named Jasper. In her spare time, she can also be found walking in the river valley, skiing in the winter, hiking in the mountains, trying new coffee shops, and experiencing the variety of restaurants in the Edmonton area.

Shayla

Shayla graduated as a veterinary technician in 2006 in Saskatoon, where she worked in private clinics and at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2009, she moved with her husband, Ben to Grande Prairie where she continued her career in private practice. In May 2011, she welcomed her first child and that October moved to Spruce Grove. In July 2012 she returned to work at a local clinic. She is happy to call Spruce Grove her home and to be raising her family here.

In her spare time, Shayla keeps very active chasing after her three children, Aiden, Caitlin and Kelsey, and her lab cross, Jersey.
